ARTIST BIO:
Diamond Trader started out as a backing pianist, but soon found his feet as a composer of bespoke quality music. As soon as he could afford to, he invested in an authentic Bösendorfer Grand and a couple on Neumann U87s. (he says that listening to his recordings with headphones is the closest you can get to actually having your ears on the inside the piano itself) Now you'll often find DT eating, sleeping and dreaming at his piano. He lives to express himself through simple graceful movement of fingers over keys. Translating a musical brief from words to score to performance is his one true calling. Each bespoke job delivered, another diamond cut to order. This song started with the lyric for me. Even before I got anywhere near the keyboard I had this poem kind of form in my head; "Every way we turn - we want to do our own thing, your path is forever vanishing to me, but I want you ..." Its a poignant theme of longing. A reflection on how, in relationships we should be equal, but often we find that one is always distant and the other wanting just a little more attention. There should evoke feelings of nostalgia too as the piece builds.
